How much do Braces cost?

How long will Braces be on for?

Typically, braces are on for 18-24 months. This can be less but it will depend on individual treatment.

Does Medicare cover Braces?

No, Medicare does not cover orthodontic treatment. If you have private health insurance, you may be eligible to claim for your treatment.

Does Solas Orthodontics have a payment plan?

Yes, we offer a payment plan option for up to 12 months.

When can my child get Braces?

The average age for children to get braces is approximately 11 and a half for girls and 12 and a half for boys. However, we begin to assess patients from the age of 7 to check their dentofacial development.

Will Braces affect what I eat?

Yes, braces will affect what you can and can’t eat. You can read more about this on our blog (or resource page).

Will Braces hurt?

There is no reason to be nervous about getting braces as they do not hurt when they are applied. There is generally discomfort associated with the placement of the braces and this may last for a few days to a week while you’re getting used to the feeling.

Will my teeth go back to the way they were?

As long as you follow the correct post braces retention protocol your teeth will not go back to the way they were.

How long will I have to wear a retainer?

Usually teeth take up to one year to stabilise following Orthodontic treatments. We highly recommend wearing your retainers for 6 months full time after the braces have been removed and then night time wear only from then onwards.

How often do I need to see the Orthodontist when they're on?

This can vary from case to case but visits can range from every 4 weeks to every 8-10 weeks.
